New York, NY – December 10, 2008
Page Thompson, previously head of OMD North America, has been appointed CEO, Omnicom Media Group North America. In this new capacity he will have responsibility for all Omnicom Media Group units in the region, including OMD, PHD as well as our strategic business units. This structure mirrors that of our other regions, and in doing so aligns North America with our global organization. Page’s appointment is effective January 1, and he will continue to report to me.
As part of this announcement, Page willtake on a number of reporting responsibilities. These include Jill Botway, who has responsibility for our CRM media companies; Steve Grubbs, who leads our US Entertainment and Sports companies; Jennifer Razor, who heads up US business development; and Kathleen Brookbanks on US Human Resource matters. In addition, Page will oversee the OMD and PHD North American operations in conjunction with the global leaders of those businesses.
In anticipation of this new structure, earlier this year we announced the appointment of Alan Cohen who has successfully transitioned into Page’s previous US responsibilities as CEO of OMD USA.
